Winter at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park!

If you’re feeling adventurous this winter, a trip to Buffalo Pound Provincial Park is perfect for you! There are so many activities there, you won’t have time to do them all!

  • There are many trails that are perfect for a winter walk, throughout the park!

  • You can try biking on the trails with a fat bike (if you don’t have one, Boh’s in Moose Jaw is the place to go!)

  • You can snowshoe, if you don’t have your own, don’t worry, you can rent them at the Park Office!

  • If cross-country skiing is your thing, you can do that too! Disc golf is a whole lot of fun, and you can try it at Buffalo Pound!

  • Ice fishing is a very popular activity at Buffalo Pound, and you can purchase your fishing license online at Hunting and Fishing Licenses - Saskatchewan Licensing (saskatchewanhal.ca)

  • There are hills just waiting for you to race down them in a toboggan or sled!

  • You can see the majestic bison that call Buffalo Pound home all year round!

  • There are also a number of guided programs for people of all ages, just go to Winter In Buffalo Pound Provincial Park | #SaskParks (tourismsaskatchewan.com)

  • The new Visitor’s Centre is now home to the Travelling Bakery, where you can warm up afterwards with a warm meal, a hot drink, or a sweet treat (starting January 7th!)

  • If one day just isn’t enough, you can also try Winter Camping, with your own gear or in one of their Camp-Easy tents!
